(6,129 posts)When it snows, most dogs love to run through it, around it and on it. I hope that's what the kangaroos are doing.

(4,568 posts)is a dog of mine, obtained as a pup in the spring, seeing snow for the first time in the fall. It snowed overnight with accumulation of about a foot. I opened the door in the morning to let her out and the reaction was hilarious - she did not know what to make of it. Ears going back and forth, sniffing and pawing a bit on the snow beside the door. She shortly got up the nerve to walk a bit, then trot, them running full out around the yard in absolute glee.
I love the way they bury their face in the snow while running and finally the discovery that snow is good to eat.
Other dogs I have had loved to play King of the Castle on big drifts.
BTW, there is a cool video on YouTube somewhere with three large draft horses running out the barn door into newly fallen deep snow and tearing around the pasture in it just like dogs like to do. Beautiful!
