(9,426 posts)made me think he has been abused. He was warning her not to get too close, to defend himself. Wow, a few minutes later and he was a new puppy. So glad all worked out for this little guy. All animals deserve to be part of a loving family.

(9,426 posts)Too bad many humans (tRump, F - Tucker Carlson, Kavanagh and many others) can not be as loveable as dogs, cats and various other animals.

(60,010 posts)I found a Golden Retriever in 1980, in the woods, when I had a 15 acre place on Whidbey Island. Rather, my Shepard dog did, and told me about it, so I went and checked.
Lil cold wet young pup, shivering under a fern bed.
Took him home, he grew into a glorious guy, of course.
When he was 3, a guy who lived a mile down the road saw us at the corner gas store, told me it was his dog, that his mother dog had led her litter into the woods and then abandoned them.
He wanted my dog.
I told him he could have it, soon as he paid for all the vet care, dog food, etc. "his" dog cost me.
that was the end of his interest.
but....I did find out that several other people had found some of the pups same time as I did, so happily, most of the litter seemed to have been rescued.

(34,457 posts)more like something a human would do if you ask me. But that's just MHO. I'm so glad you found the pupper, er, I should say your Shepherd found him. That guy sounds like a jerk.
