The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHey, how do I catch the noisy cricket in my basement?
I kept the light off and used a flashlight. I saw the little critter and it ran. I was going to use a jar to trap it and let it go outside.
Yes, it's raining outside, but I think they are waterproof.
True story.
Any suggestions?

(6,129 posts)I had a colony of crickets in my basement. My cat wiped them out. I was glad they were gone, but I didn't appreciate the "gifts" my cat would give me.

(55,025 posts)you have to be fast, also the little bastids can throw their sound and you may have seen a female that the male was calling or even another competing male.

(5,271 posts)Sometimes they jump away too fast and I have to try again, but I will not kill or injure them, so a soft tissue works well to catch and then just throw the tissue and cricket outside. I spotted them after turning on bathroom light in darkness.
