Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI finished Season 3 of Stranger Things (SOME SPOILERS)
It was all right. Am I the only one who liked Season 2 the best? Reading online it seems like that was the least favorite of most people's seasons, but I felt the most engaged watching that compared to Seasons 1 and 3.
Honestly, I'm going to admit that the scenes with Eleven, Mike, Will, etc. were the least interesting to me.
On the other hand, I absolutely loved the parts with Steve, Robin and Dusty. Also the parts with Murray and Alexi. I could have honestly preferred just watching them all season.
I will say, however, the whole part with Dusty and his girlfriend singing the theme to "Neverending Story"....I hated that scene. With a passion. They could have pulled it off, somehow, but instead just let it drag on way too long and pointlessly.
Also, we can all go ahead and agree that the One Character Who You Are To Assume Died At The End isn't actually dead, right? I mean, the Duffers aren't George RR Martin....even George RR Martin doesn't seem to be George RR Martin anymore.

(16,859 posts)The interactions with the kids in the first couple episodes was somewhat forced, but I liked the storyline better this season, personally.
That being said, could it be "papa" instead of the other character in that Russian facility? Season 2 insinuated in places that Brenner wasn't killed by the demogorgan

(4,138 posts)It was a kind of cliched amoral scientist character, that served it's narrative purpose. Plus, I know Matthew Modine has done good work in the past, but he was just sleepwalking through the role.
OTOH, doing a big emotional sendoff, and then immediately undermining it with a teaser is pretty poor form, so much as I loved Hopper, I kinda hope it's not him.

(7,447 posts)you don't like the part where the kids act like kids then.
Because other than Dusty (who basically acts like an adult mostly...exxxxcept the Neverending Story part lol), you like all the adult parts.

(43,182 posts)I mean, Eleven is interesting given who she is, but I felt too often she just seemed like a plot device to fix things with her powers. Will and Lucas were mainly just background characters, and Mike's angst just didn't feel very convincing to me.
On the other hand, Dusty works so well because I think Gaten Matarazzo is a better actor than all the other child actors with perhaps the exception of Millie Bobby Brown.
And I still think my favorite part of the show has been the development of the redemptive arc that Steve has been on since the end of the first season.

(1,009 posts)I liked season one and two much better. Im still scratching my head on this one. It felt more cheesy (Im ok with cheesy most of the time), silly (russians in a secret hidden lab below ground?) and the ending felt rushed. My son said there is a pertinent part after the credits that I completely missed, and still have to watch. I keep forgetting...

(791 posts)They totally pulled 'The Neverending Story' theme off.
Buckle up, here it is on an hour loop.

(43,182 posts)Basically Dusty and his girlfriend get so wrapped up in their sing-a-long that they lose all track of time, until they turn around and everyone else is dead and the world has become a horrific post apocalyptic landscape.
Thats the only way that scene could work IMHO.

(10,749 posts)I find all of the characters just too damned boring. I'll make my way through it, but not happily. I'll let you know if I change my mind after watching it.
Keep in mind that my tv viewing habits are not exactly high end.
I'm mid way through Lost Girl and Agents of Shield. But that's mainly because of Anna Silk, Ksenia Solo, and Chloe Bennet.
I tried going back to Supergirl but lost interest. I just went back to Daredevil.
So we're not talking high-falutin' TV tastes.

(9,893 posts)watching this because EVERYBODY told me I had to watch it. Best TV show of all time, etc. I finished Episode 1, and Im not feeling it. Ill try maybe two more episodes. I mean, its not bad, its just not interesting to me!

(17,984 posts)Season one was spectacular because it was new and we needed to find out all about Eleven and the Upside Down. Season two was great because we had the Mind Flayer who was soooooo much worse than any demigorgon. Season three? What is it about anyway? Russians under the mall? A left over piece of the Mind Flayer? Meh!
Now, I have heard two hypotheses about the character who is not dead. One hypothesis (the one to which I ascribe) is that he was taken prisoner by the Russians. The second hypothesis is that he is in the Upside Down.
