She entered our lives when she was about 2. I am so grateful this couple took a cat who is in their twilight years. I am so blessed to have my baby - she gives 100% love each and every day.

Our whole country needs more people like that.

What a pleasant break from all the trump-related shit we're slogging through these days! MOST welcome!

Thanks for posting this, catbyte! I needed something like this.

This particular cat has a kidney condition for which he needs medication, and a tumor.

hospice care for cats/dogs and the shelter will pay for everything, you just make the vet visits.

I am not the hospice type. Just the shared cost type. I am too soft to deal with death every few months.

after the owner takes the pet on. With the high cost of vet care, shelters would go broke if they did that.

I lost my kitty, Louis, to renal failure a week ago. He was 16. It was a hard couple of months for him at the end. This beautiful boy is very fortunate to have landed safely with these kind folks.

Goldie's been gone two weeks and three days. I'm still having trouble dealing with that. Still getting choked up every time I think of her. We think she was about 17.

Here's a hug:

I, too am very sorry for the loss of Goldie. Isn't it a wonder that a creature so small in stature can take up so much room in our hearts? These are tough days, I know.

A neighborhood semi-stray has been showing up at my house quite regularly for the past few weeks. I've been feeding him and letting him stay as long as he wants. Sometimes he spends the night. Other times, not so long.

I am not in a position to take in a full time cat, and after a lot of thought, I've decided I'll keep on feeding this cat but not assume full responsibility. He is sweet, and loves to sit on my lap.

Some day, when I can be a responsible cat owner, I will take in the oldest cat available.
