Talking with the grandson I knew you were coming so I stocked up cheese and shrimp

A ramble everybody is asleep and young mister ate, and now he is asleep on the couch swine dining eat and sleep. He is a early riser at sixteen months old, his stomach rules him. I woke up hit the shower and came back into our room and he was awake playing with his toys on our bed young mister and grandma, I grabbed him and granny rolled over and went back to sleep. I know we’re setting a bad precedent letting him sleep with us. We let all our kids sleep with us as infant and toddlers. Seriously my wife and I used joke gently used crib.

And the diaper change it was terrible, bum wipes were not adequate for this operation. Nope into the downstairs tub you need cleaned up. And we got sidetracked and played with bath toys, then for breakfast I made grilled cheese and shrimp he loves it. And we sit and talk he tells me in toddler speak play music that’s our thing on the one laptop and he bounces in his high chair.

I get a big smile when I grab my tokai Les Paul and plug in and play along. And he’s a awesome listener.

Pap- why son I’ve been in a relationship with this guitar longer than grandma why I met this beautiful tone beast in 85 Giessen west Germany.

Grandson- Rrrrrrr smiles then grabs shrimp

Pap - What kid ok ZZ Top Fandango we can do that. You know kid you’re great grandma does not like ZZ Top I gave up piano when I discovered them and been a blues man ever since age of 11.

Grandson- aaaargh smiles holding grilled cheese as we jam to thunderbird.

Pap- you know child I’ve worn a lot of hats over the years. Goof off teenager airborne infantry husband teamster father oh but the best hat is grandpa. Now we’re into breakfast desert yogurt blueberry his favorite.

Grandson- RRRRAAAGH speak and keep the yogurt coming pap and it’s all over his lips and face he is so beautiful.

Pap- Mexican blackbird is on I tell him you’re great grandma once she figured out this song was about she had a mad why are you playing that filth I was about 12 at this time. Let me tell you kid grandma did not have a sense of humor then. She went and told our dad we’re figuring out a song about a Mexican hooker. Seriously we couldn’t figure her out what we’re the chances you’re great uncle and pap, would stumble across a Mexican hooker in Appalachia and get soiled at age 12 and 11 wasn’t gonna happen.

As I sit on the couch with him as he sleeps I pat his little diaper bum or rub his back. Mister will wake up in awhile looking for second breakfast he’s a Hobbit.

but I will again.

I call it a breakfast sundae. I would make it for my kids on Friday...Always a test day. How can your day go bad when it starts off with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top?

There are so many variations of this you can make.

I would put a handful of cheerios on the bottom of a sundae dish. You can use a crumbled poptart, blueberry muffin, any kind of cereal

top with yogurt, any flavor. Sometimes I used the yogurt with the toppings in the lid. YoCrunch

Slice a banana or preferred fruit/berries and place along the side

Top with whipped cream, sprinkles or the topping from the YoCrunch and a cherry.

And you are absolutely right: college, vietnam, university and government career, 48 years now married to my princess, my queen, I love today as much as I did in 1963 when I first fell for her, maybe more if that's even possible -- but little Raz is the best of everything.

Wish he could be near. His parents moved across country so we're separated by 1,000s of miles. They send videos weekly and call regularly. He's getting big, talking in a language his parents can understand, walking and exploring, looking for four leaf clovers after his dad found 2!

But still would be nice if he were near.(Gotta go. Something in my eye.)

You have to start them early on good rock. It's pretty funny imagining you at breakfast serenading the grandkids while everyone else is asleep. And where is the Boog in all this? Why is he not going after the food? Maybe he's scurrying around under the high chair looking for droppings?
