Nelson-Atkins. Have lunch in Roselle court. Kemper museum nearby.

Skip the Plaza. It's just a shopping center.

as the historical Blue Room at 18th and Vine. I can go look up some stuff for you, both of my sons play jazz in KC and are usually in the know about all that is going on there, if I can get a hold of them. There is a lot going on right now.

If you have FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=17022525 Spine Showcases is going on this week Created by Kelly Gant. If she is singing you should hear her. She is so good and she whistles too, amazing whistle solos! Non FaceBook link https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=17022525 Peter Schlamb is outstanding and he is with Ryan Lee Mmmmmm, also Matt Villinger. I really do not know much about Blues shows but you can usually find them around. One of DU's oldies who has been gone for a long time from here, did/does great art has a blues band that is pretty well known around there. If I can find that they are playing I will let you know.

the Sophian Plaza. Old KC and there's a bar with a Maxfield Parrish mural on the wall. But in the Nelson Gallery is a life size statue of the Quan Yin in seated with one foot on the ground, poised to aid all sentient beings. A must see if you have any awe for sacred art.

Wonderful outdoor sculpture garden. And the new Bloch Gallery (on the Nelson grounds) has wonderful exhibits. Also the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art is nearby.

The Country Club Plaza is in the vicinity with shopping and dining. The Crossroads District has good galleries and restaurants.

Hot today, but a nice cool front will be here tomorrow for a few days. Enjoy your visit.

all those towns along the Mississippi get down right brutal. Always carried a clean set of Uni's on the Passenger seat from Memorial day to Labor day. Only had the 55 A/C,windows rolled down and 55 mph.

from them and in a different river valley but not as big. The other day before the heat wave started it was 85 degrees and I went out to clean the barn thinking that is a nice temp. I was drenched in minutes, checked the weather service and the humidity was 91%. It gets muggy around here and with such a long very wet spring it is worse!

tracking another anomaly. We started watching this event back in 2006 or so,it is called Corn Humidity. Happened to purchase a Camping Humidity as well as a Ambient air Temp monitor at a local out fitter store. Just out of a lark, while parked in our Relatives Farm yard in southwestern Minnesota, lets see what this Humidity is all about. BTW,we were surrounded by ten foot corn . Holy Cow,Humidity at the local Airport was reporting 30+%. Fifteen miles west in the middle of the corn fields,we were showing 70%. The next day we went to the University Extension Office in that town just to see if we screwed things up . No we didn't,the Extension Lady said they we aware of this new phenomenon which was first discovered in Southern Illinois a few years earlier and a research paper was in the works.

Under certain conditions,a Fog bank has been observed a few feet above the Corn tassels. Fully understand the soaking wet in the Barn. Grew up with those Black and White critters. That is why we put a shower and change room addition to the Milk House.

I've been in corn fields and I know how hot it gets, but I always thought it was hot because the corn was blocking the wind. Didn't know it actually raised the humidity. I wonder if it's the same for other crops that grow tall or if it's unique to corn.

and what was noticed at the extension farm was the fog could contained Herbicides and Pesticides during the first few events that were monitored. Same for the Corn, only the first few events tend to be quite heavy. There again major difference in plant size and structure. Beans tend to hold moisture in the leaves were as Corn tends to emit that excess moisture.

be 10% less than the Twin Cities, but as you said, you are right on. Know the area,as Dairy has gone away, more of the land is now Corn and Beans and less Hay and Pastureland. Some of the Worlds Richest Soils are in that area.

10% chance rain and sunny

Should be fantastic! People gonna go crazy. Find something to do outdoors at night, check Starlight Theatre schedule. Kansas City Royals game? Go to Liberty Memorial for a night view of the city. Find the Scout Statue in Penn Valley Park. He is an icon.

Kansas City is the City of Fountains. See how many you can find. You should definitely check out the J. C. Nichols fountain at the Country Club Plaza. It is beautiful!

Edit to add: about the fountains...if you are flying in, you should see at least one fountain before you leave the airport.

I agree with those above, that is a shitty thing to say. I am not a big fan of Kansas City, I live about 60 miles from it and spend a great deal of time there since my sons live there and all my husbands family. That being said, it is not lacking for any kind of entertainment or good food or kind people. It is a typical big city without being HUGE. Harder to get around in now but it is a nice place full of wonderful things and great places of entertainment and food. The Art Galleries are fabulous and you can find all kinds of them spread out through the city.

I don't know where you are from but is it really so great you have to be so pretentious?

Tapas place right down the road. La Bodega. We eat there now and again and were just there a couple of weeks ago. Mmmmm, really good. For fancy Corvino's is nice and they almost always have a jazz group there. The Majestic Steak House almost always has a jazz group too.

A fantastic exhibit of mid-19th-century artifacts salvaged from a sunken riverboat. The whole thing is just jaw-dropping! Located north of downtown in the River Market area. Very much worth the price of admission!
