A DoorDash deliver customer was shocked when his barbecue dinner ordered showed up half-eaten.
Chris Payton ordered food from a Dickey's Barbecue restaurant in West Manchester Township, Pennsylvania, and had it delivered via the app that uses its own drivers to ferry orders from restaurants to customers' doors.
He said when he opened the box with his meal he found that half of it had already been consumed.
Two of the six ribs he was expecting were gone and there were obvious bite marks on the ones that were left.
'I was just dumbfounded I was really shocked that something like that would happen,' Payton told FOX43.
Payton is convinced that the DoorDash delivery driver is the culprit.
'I guess she just pulls over to the side of the road and just decides to have herself a little snack before she delivers,' he said.

(25,183 posts)people are too damned lazy or busy to get off their own asses and go get a bite to eat these days. I've never used anything other than pizza delivery, which has a long history of working out right, more or less. That's probably because the pizza delivery person is a real employee of the pizza shop, and not some random car-for-hire.

(33,034 posts)If the day is ' my arthritis is 'bad', getting down the ramp, opening the heavy gate, using my walker, folding it into the back seat, driving to my BBQ place, parking in the handicapped spot, getting out, opening up the back seat, pulling out the walker, & it's 125 steps into the restaurant...wanna think on it a bit more?

(25,183 posts)yes, this is a godsend. I failed to consider them in my response, thanks for bringing it up. My guess is that the vast majority of DoorDash and UberEats customers don't have these problems.
It's like "gluten free", I'm glad for the people who have celiac disease that they have so many options these days, but again, my guess is that a lot of that stuff is consumed by people without digestive issues, who suspect that gluten is a poison manufactured by Monsanto or something else illogical.
When the gluten-free and "gotta have it delivered" fads go away, I hope that people with medical issues still have access to what they need.

(14,961 posts)everyone, I ordered 10 double cheeseburgers, got home had 8 double cheeseburgers and 2 wrapped buns with no burgers. I have no idea how that happened.
This story takes the cake though. I would likely be in shock just like him. I hope she was finally fired.

(42,766 posts)If I had a passenger with me I would have them check but if I'm alone I don't bother. I know I have the option of looking inside the bag but I choose to not go there any more because it got to where it happened so often it seemed like it was not merely accidental.

(14,961 posts)why I check while I'm still sitting there. I did well, until about 2 weeks ago....it was raining, I didn't check they shorted me a whole meal. So frustrating.
