Here are a couple that do the originals well. It is so easy to sound like a garage band when covering classic tunes. Both of these capture the best of the originals.
Enjoy
Terry Kath would be proud of that lead work.

I love the song, but I'm not sure if Get A Load Of This by the Cheap Suit Serenaders is a cover of Keep It Clean considering they reworked the lyrics a bit.

(2,404 posts)First, the Lemonheads are a completely underrated band. They did an excellent job with this Paul Simon tune.
This song had always intrigued me. The lyrics are so rich with mystery. I've often wondered if Paul wrote this specifically for the movie or if our already existed.
Well done.

(153,193 posts)from Wiki:
Paul had been working on what is now 'Mrs. Robinson', but there was no name in it and wed just fill in with any three-syllable name. And because of the character in the picture we just began using the name 'Mrs. Robinson' to fit [...] and one day we were sitting around with Mike talking about ideas for another song. And I said What about Mrs. Robinson.' Mike shot to his feet. 'You have a song called "Mrs. Robinson" and you havent even shown it to me?' So we explained the working title and sang it for him. And then Mike froze it for the picture as 'Mrs. Robinson'.
I love this part:
Simon met DiMaggio accidentally in a New York City restaurant, and the two immediately discussed the song. DiMaggio said "What I don't understand, is why you ask where I've gone. I just did a Mr. Coffee commercial, I'm a spokesman for the Bowery Savings Bank and I haven't gone anywhere!" Simon replied "that I didn't mean the lines literally, that I thought of him as an American hero and that genuine heroes were in short supply. He accepted the explanation and thanked me. We shook hands and said good night".
I agree with you about the Lemonheads, absolutely.

(2,404 posts)First off, other than "Maybe I'm Amazed" this is probably the best song written by Paul. George Michael might have actually made the song better. An amazing performance that I must admit, brought a tear to my eye. George Michael's death left a huge hole.

(2,404 posts)... People don't even know who he was.
Terry was a triple threat. Not only could he play a guitar like few others, he could write songs and his soulful voice was center piece of Chicago. They would never be the same again. Cetera took them in a whole new direction.
Rumor had it that Terry was seriously considering leaving Chicago to start a power trio not unlike other bands at the time. As has often been stated, Jimi Hendrix felt that Terry was among the best.
As you said yourself, just imagine what might have been if Terry would have lived.

(2,404 posts)I've never heard this version. Beautifully done. His voice actually takes this song back to the original. If I'm not mistaken, it was Joni Mitchell who wrote Woodstock. Her version is much like this one. In a strange twist, CSNY version is actually a cover.
