The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsHoly cow. I'm normally not a fan of cover bands doing note by note covers.
But these guys hit it out of the park. I've heard other bands play this, but often they sound like a local garage band (nothing wrong with that...). I can't imagine how difficult it would be to cover this song so well.

(51,614 posts)I am not the ultimate judge in the household, my little dog is. Both my dogs were raised to that tape that I played on a loop for the first few years of their lives when they learned how to ride in my car at breakneck speeds and not throw up. It is my favorite car music so I can sing at the top of my lungs and I don't get complaints from passengers who are furry and short. I just played it for her and she gives this version an 8 out of 10 tail wags. The music gets a 10 the vocals get a 6 (she told me this you know).

(36,449 posts)I present a totally different genre of music, but some incredible music when you consider the lengths The Beau Hunks went to make it perfect, often transcribing the music from old films, note by note, because none of Leroy Shield's Hal Roach Studio arraignments survive.
The Beau Hunks are a Dutch revivalist music ensemble who have performed and recorded the vintage works of composers Leroy Shield, Marvin Hatley, Raymond Scott, Edward MacDowell, Ferde Grofé, and others. They have been referred to as a "documentary orchestra," because they perform note-perfect renditions of music which is obscure and often commercially unavailable. For some projects for which no sheet music was known to exist, they had to reconstruct charts from original recordings extracted from films
