All Creatures Great and Small Is Returning to Television!

"Even Masterpiece can't resist the allure of a revival. Today, the popular PBS program announced that it will be bringing the much-beloved animal-centric All Creatures Great and Small back to television for a six-episode miniseries. Here's what we know so far..."

I s'pose if reboots are going to happen, ACG&S is as ripe a piece of period drama as any.

Tristan and his brother got in a big fight and his brother "sacks" (fires) him from the practice.....Dr. Herriot expresses sympathy and asks Tristan what he will do....Tristan responds, what do you, mean, "do"? Then he has to explain that be has been "sacked" many, many times by his brother and it was meaningless

I have read them many times. I love reading about history of the early 20th Century.

But for some strange reason, it bothered me when I found out that the stories were not really autobiographical, but mostly fiction, including tall tales vets had been telling each other in that area for decades. By all accounts, his wife Helen in particular was nothing like the sweet, self-effacing woman in the books.

I suppose it was naive of me to believe it was mostly autobiographical in the first place.

As for reboots and remakes, I don't see the point and I probably won't bother watching it.
