What I find remarkable, besides the tunnel itself, is that Herodotus is the only source who ever mentioned it. I mean, anyone who knows Herodotus knows that what he wrote is more folktale than real history. In other words, he sought out the strange and then embellished. I'm betting that others mentioned it but those sources were lost.

Almost 3/4 of a miel, constructed from both ends and pretty nearly a perfect match up. Had to have alien assistance. Oh and for the Pyramids too.
