When we were thinking of selling our house a few years ago my husband called a broker to talk about prices in our area etc. She has driven us crazy ever since. Almost once a week until I blocked her number, then she started showing up at the house.

Seems like you should be able to revoke your relationship with a real estate salesperson.

I had one young sales girl that I really liked, the others just didn't bridge the trust factor.

Besides, my American dream was always to set roots in the U.S.A. That means we won't be on the market for at least the next twenty years.

They send me a postcard every time a house in our neighborhood sells. They show up at the door with folders of information about how they could sell our house. If we go to an open house for a house being sold they badger us for contact information. They drop off flyers introducing themselves and telling us how they sold other houses.

I HAVE a Realtor, thanks. She's not retired yet. She helped us buy this house. When we sell, she'll help us sell it. We trust her.

I tell them this. It doesn't seem to matter. Like flies, there are always more.

The market must be pretty bad right now.

Never know if it's part of a fair market, or whether the good buddies are pulling strings. (Lots of people that were involved in a corruption scheme a few decades back landed in the real estate business. So, I always wonder if it's a safe place to pass on inducements.)

Gave them the phone number, noted at the end they told me to keep it quiet. But to call that number.

I also said I would consider turning the card over to the police. We are a small town. I once got a really threatening letter when I wrote a Letter to the Editor. Reported it to the Editor. They know who it was. He used fictitious names and addresses. Seemed to be his hobby. The Policeman told me he came just short of threatening me, but if he contacted me again the Police would take action.

I appreciate knowing about others.

Lying POS.

I have lived next to this very old and poorly maintained junk mobile home for nearly 15 years. The old lady who lived there was no longer to stay by herself and her asshole son took over the place. Every new buyer next to this nightmare mobile had been promised that it was going to be pulled out and new manufactured home would replace it -- that was a lie. All the son did was "put lipstick on a pig." The fire hazards he created are too numerous to mention. Thinks he can turn this because of the neighborhood for almost $70K over what it's worth because of the surrounding homes.

So I told the realtor about the horrendous safety and fire problems and that all the neighbors are concerned because of the wiring overloads and the manner in which electrical was run outside to a gardening shed, and this little ass wipe realtor did not want to hear it BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE TO REVEAL WHAT I SAID TO ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS!!!!!

So I went to the fire inspector and they took charge. All of the un-permitted and dangerous work by the son's handymen has been ripped out and the pending sale on the house with all the hazards fell through -- thank gawd. The inspector gave the son 48 hours to take down ALL of the shit he had wired into the house...kitchen, porches, shed, bathrooms, ceiling lights...because not one permit had been pulled.

The neighbors are ecstatic to have this piece of shit fire hazard remedied. The asshole realtor and son are pissed off. Fuck 'em and feed 'em peanuts! All we needed was a fire in a seniors development!!!!

Aggressive does not EVEN come close the shit I have seen lately.

That the house has to be inspected and passed before you can sell or rent a house. One of the Council members asked me to come. I was the only homeowner there, but a big group of Real Estate people were.it passed and a new Mayor and Council are cracking down.

All the rental houses bought during the recession have been sold to homeowners.. streets, curbings, yards have all been cleaned up. The way it was when we built the house.

The Mobilehome Residency Law -- favors all of the park owners and does nothing for the home owners. They really do not care if someone pulls a necessary permit. The old mobiles can be a horrendous health and fire hazard. Nearly all in this development have been replaced or inspected by the buyers who did the necessary tasks to protect themselves and others. (Note: June 1976 -- federal housing HUD Code went into effect and mandated all of the regs on factory built housing. Homes built after that date are manufactured homes and are nothing like the ones built prior to the federal law in 1976 which are mobile homes and completely different.)

So, since I am a retired atty, when there is a problem, everyone comes looking for me. At least this time, I was able to prevent some fire hazards put in the old mobile home that could have become a horrific tragedy.

The realtor simply did not give a shit except for any $$$$$ that could come to him.

I will say that the Cal Bureau of Real Estate can and does pull licenses pretty quickly. That is why I sent pictures and messages about the problems to the realtor via emails and did not rely on him being truthful about what I would say verbally. After that BS about having to reveal to buyers, no doubt in my mind he was a nasty, money-grubbing POS.

The sad part? He took over the realty biz that his step-father ran and the step-father was a stand up guy. The step-father is in hospice and I don't think he has Clue One what a POS the step-son is.

but a lot of competition in manufactured housing. Affordable -- compared to other homes in LA County. The ones where I live for a new manufactured house -- approx 1800 sq. ft -- running $260k to slightly over $300K. No real property included, just the housing. Rents in a good park start at $1,000/month plus utilities and HOA. Cannot touch this in "regular" housing.

Also, not many people understand the dynamics of manufactured housing. I do. No one knows what to look for and IMO some of the sales persons in this field are less than honest.

With all housing: IMO, just because it looks good and is staged well, does not mean that it is a good house. The bones are the most important thing. HAVE ALL HOUSES INSPECTED TO BE SURE!!!!

Moved the the LV area during the recession. We talked to a pretty large group of them not too lng after. They said they could not make a living in California.

Wonder if they all moved back because the housing market there is now good?

Of course we just had several tornadoes so the rental is very bad because so many large Housing projects were leveled.

The two worst were at Bassett and Haverty’s.
There was no simple answer from the one at Bassett. Every small question lead to a stream of all the varieties and services they offer. We nicely made it clear we were just looking. She swooped back in on my wife at one point with a “Oh...and...” and I quietly let out a JMFC!

Haverty’s is 100% commission. This lady was on us like a mall Security guard on a potential shoplifter. Every time we paused she was on us with details. I was polite but we didn’t stay long.

At the appointed time, we showed up at the house, which was open, but nobody was there to greet us. We looked all over, and finally found her asleep in an upstairs bedroom.

We ended up not making an offer...

My sister is still sorting through stuff in Mom's house so it will be a bit before it will be ready to be sold.

I'm in Santa Fe, which is heating up, and there's a real shortage of homes, especially in the "affordable" range. I happen to be very happy with my little place, perfect for me, and I've done some recent improvements. Someday, when it is sold, it should sell quickly and realize a tidy profit. Meanwhile, as I like to say, I can afford to live here.

Before deciding to buy my wife and I knew our lease was due to expire. So we met with a wealth manager to make a plan on what to do with the proceeds of a house we sold last year. We went on vacation to think it over and spent quite a bit of time on Zillow reviewing our local market.

On a Tuesday we decided we were ready to buy. On Wednesday morning I called a realtor. By Wednesday noon my wife told me which house she wanted. We arranged to see it that night, made an offer, then a counter offer and it was accepted - all done in less than 12 hours. Our realtor told us we were the easiest clients she ever worked with (and the most assertive).

But anywho, as I said, our house was briefly on the market three years ago.

We STILL get calls every day, people's business cards stuck on our screen every day, and even though they have slowed down to a trickle, the drive-bys are still happening, and we even had another walk-up last month.
