20,000 christian fundamentalists petition Netflix to cancel a show that's on Amazon Prime.

https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2019/6/20/1866057/-20-000-petition-Netflix-to-cancel-offensive-Good-Omens-it-s-on-Amazon?utm_campaign=trending

Good Omens is a weird but funny fantasy-novel about angels, demons and Armageddon.
Plot synopsis: The Cold War between Heaven and Hell turns hot, much to the dismay of the angelic and demonic field-agents living the sweet life on Earth.
It has been turned into a series that runs on Amazon Prime.

But Christians marshalled by the Return to Order campaign, an offshoot of the US Foundation for a Christian Civilisation, disagree. More than 20,000 supporters have signed a petition in which they say that Good Omens is “another step to make satanism appear normal, light and acceptable”, and “mocks God’s wisdom”. God, they complain, is “voiced by a woman” – Frances McDormand – the antichrist is a “normal kid” and, most importantly, “this type of video makes light of Truth, Error, Good and Evil, and destroys the barriers of horror that society still has for the devil”. They are calling on Netflix to cancel the show.

more and more, Christianity, especially the fundamentalist form of it, manifests to me as truly evil, stupid, and intolerant. I call them the Christian Taliban. The same mentality that persecuted Jews for thousands of years, instigated the Inquisition, and supported and justifiied an elite wealthy nobility to enslave serfs in a lifetime of impoverished suffering.

It is not for no reason that our American founding fathers were men of the Enlightenment and the Age of Reason, and founded our democracy on the separation of church and state, free speech, and a free press. But the Christian Fundies would burn books, suppress a critical free press, and prohibit non-members of their church from holding office, teaching, or holding a decent job. They are a truly evil lot.

it’s not live broadcast, it’s a paid on demand streaming service which also allows parental restrictions. What’s next, ban all porn?
