He would have been 99 years old today. A great man, in a quiet and unassuming way. A gentleman, that never lost his soft southern accent. He always put his family of five kids first....working long hard hours to put food on the table, then taking us bicycling, fishing, or to nature preserves or parks on Sundays. He taught us to love nature and the great outdoors, animals, gardening, self-discipline, manners, and respect.
The remaining two of us miss him every day. Love you, Dad.

The love of animals and nature is among the greatest gifts anyone can impart in my book.
And it sounds as if he gave you THE greatest gift anyone could give another person, not only did he care, he believed in you!
Your kind heart is a testament to your dad. He did good, dear Bayard, he did good.
