is merely "noise dampening" NOT "noise cancelling".

She also says I need hearing aids.

You can always tell when someone walks into the bathroom when you're talking to them on the phone. My guess is it must have something to do with the presence of the bathtub.

that's why concert venues tend to use wood panelling, wood gives the sound echoes a more "natural" full bodied sound.

Surfaces like glass, tile, and chromium reflect the sound harshly. It's why some people used to (maybe they still do) put carpeting in bathrooms and kitches. It helps deaden the sound a bit. It's also hell on earth if there's a plumbing accident, but

I ordered a brand X from Ebay. It lasted two months before corrosion set in. Then it was noise amplifying rather than cancelling. Now I am divorced.
