The B52s Planet Claire recording fully restored from performance on children's TV in the UK. Sound boosted and version used from the record.
From ITV's "Get Fresh" filmed in Plymouth, UK, 11th July 1987.
It seems to me that Henry Mancini should get some royalties for this, but there 's nothing in the Wikipedia entry about that.
"Planet Claire"
Single by The B-52's
from the album The B-52's
B-side: "Downtown"
Released: July 6, 1979
"Planet Claire" is the second single released by The B-52's from their self-titled debut album. The single was their second to chart anywhere, at no. 43 in Australia and no. 24 on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart, along with album tracks "Rock Lobster" and "Dance This Mess Around".
Sayyyyy; the 40th anniversary is coming up in a month.

(4,192 posts)Only planet we know of that we know of that supports life as we know it is here.
Imagine that...all the knowledge we have today of the far reaches of the universe and we only know of this one having life. We gots a long way to go.
And if we get to talking light years away, then "when" becomes as relevant as "where".
If I could, though, I'd like to be born on a star ship that visits many worlds. As long as the people are nice. Yea, I want to live in a Star Trek utopia.

(4,858 posts)...capital of Asimov's Galactic Empire. Forty billion people crowded into one little planet. Everything one could imagine, and much one cannot. With maybe a little interstellar cruiser, so I could vacation on some empty Pleasure World once in awhile... Heaven.

Or, since I'm kinda anti-social, I'd like Aurora from Isaac Asimov's Robots of Dawn, the 3rd in the Caves of Steel series.
It seems to be about time to reread those books.
