But nobody seemed to know me.

(I just counted backward. This was in fact my 41,000th post! )

2. I've been to Bailey's Crossroads many times

Starting back when it was a late night meet up for teenage band members (Steak in a Sack!), and there was a small airfield for single-engined planes across the street.

I guess that doesn't count, huh?

4. Nowadays, it's completely built up. The elephants are gone, I'm afraid--even most of the Republicans

The rural northern Virginia of my childhood is completely gone. Bailey's is still there, but no longer a landmark to be guided by.

Just imagine what that original 526 acres of prime Washington suburbs land would be worth now. Hotshot residences, hi tech companies and shopping malls. Today that land is worth more than Bill Gates and Warren Buffett combined.

Been a number of times. It’s down home and just right. Everybody on earth has signed those walls. 😄

61 and 49 crossed in a different spot in RJ’s day. But you can find it along the highway not far away.

I’ve been to the Sunflower River Blues Festival several times over the years. Love Clarksdale. Cathead, Ground Zero, Po Monkey’s (now gone)...
