(38,325 posts)My grandma would have loved it. She loved flying, back when it was glamorous, which is maybe why she married an Army Air Corp officer.
She'd dress up for flying like a Hollywood movie star.
When I was a kid she bought the ticket for my first flight on a jetliner. I got all the bling and attention children received then, shaking the captain's hand, etc..

(25,894 posts)uniform from 1968. It's about 9 seconds into the video. Appears to be a person staffing the check-in counter. Later they say staff will be wearing replicas of the TWA uniform from the early 1970s, so I can't imagine why they have the apparent United uniform shown. Sloppy research on someone's part.

(6,117 posts)When I used to visit family on Long Island in the 50s and 60s, we used to go out to Idlewild. Later as an adult, I occasionally flew through JFK, sometimes on TWA. Can't wait to see it again after all these years.
