(9,426 posts)Great way to start Sunday. So many cute photos and jokes. Love the "stay" "sit" "roll over" cat! The llamas surrounding the cat up on the post. The cat that looks remarkably like a lion. The little Boston terrier (French bulldog?) with the different markings. Enjoyed them all. Keep up the good work.

(9,426 posts)Thanks for correcting me. How do you tell them apart?
colorado_ufo
(5,737 posts)The easiest way to do it is to get a picture of a llama and a picture of an alpaca, with some size reference in the background, and put them next to each other. Or, visit a zoo or a farm and see for yourself! They are both part of the camel family.

(6,831 posts)Llamas tend to have ears that curve inward, looking like a pair of bananas. Alpacas ears are straighter.
Also, Alpacas get sheared from head to toe once a year, whereas Llamas usually just get the "blanket" or "saddle" cut.

(5,106 posts)We had one once and weren't immediately aware of their proclivity for water. The first time I saw her swimming in the bathtub, I was amazed. It's been thirty years, but I still feel badly for going to answer the phone once and leaving the water in the tub too hot. She leaped straight out and didn't "go swimming" after that. She was deaf. Fairly common in white cats, according to our vet, and a real sweetheart.

(35,691 posts)I laughed my head off at "you just call out my name and I'll ignore you."
And the one about wasting money was gratifying because I quit wasting money years ago when I realized they would be just as amused with a milk bottle cap.
You perform a public service, SCE. This was a great stress-reliever.

(33,643 posts)Any text that gets printed in a DU post that surrounds one's picture/video/tweet, etc ... is superfluous and unneeded. Here's your last pic with no IMG tags, all I did was put the URL itself in my post. DU automatically assumes a URL ending in GIF or JPG ... is a photo.
