How do I cancel/delete my Facebook account?

Facebook's refusal to take down the distorted videos of Nancy Pelosi is enough for me. I seldom use my own Facebook account so I have no idea how to get rid of it. Can someone tell me what to do>

delete account. Watch bc you can also just do one 'not permanent'. They 'gotcha', if you know what I mean. Need to do husband's yet. i never participated. Never will.

3. I asked google and this is what it said.........

To permanently delete your account:

1.Click at the top right of any Facebook page.
2.Click Settings.
3.Click Your Facebook Information in the left column.
4.Click Delete Your Account and Information, then click Delete My Account.
5.Enter your password, click Continue and then click Delete Account.

10. I have had and continue to stage my own personal

protest parade regarding FB. And twitter and instagram and all the others.

I have very dear friends that are on them. And I have some understanding of 'sharing' news etc. about family life. Not chastising any who participate. You could spend beaucoup hours getting snagged on FB. I told my husband about all the security issues. Now it's up to me to undo his account. Gone just over 2 months ago. Got into a brawl w/his (expletive) sister over stuff she was posting.
