Of course, right now I'm going back through Game of Thrones music (Spotify is your friend on that one--some great playlists).
What I'm getting out of it is the USE of the music. For instance, I still have a few days left on my free HBO trial subscription so will go back and watch episode 3 Battle of Winterfell.
People complained they had difficulty seeing anything during the Battle of Winterfell, but you could definitely hear the epic score (Knight King). Per a blogger's review: Djawadi wrote triple the amount of music because of the episodes run time and it moves beautifully from the anticipation of the White Walkers arrival to the gigantic, bone-crunching life or death battle.
Right when all hope is lost and The Night King closes in on Bran, the score slows down to a single piano (a rarity, well get to that in a sec) and we brace for the worst. But then Arya does her knife trick, the White Walkers turn into Slurpees, and were left to mourn the aftermath of the battle with sombre violins.

(4,919 posts)I can still remember the vinyl smell whenever I took out the original Star Wars albums.
I have a special place in my heart for the Stu Philip's Battlestar Galactica soundtrack.

(82,849 posts)But my college roommate had a promotional copy of the soundtrack to a long-forgotten, not-even-cult-classic movie "Welcome to L.A." Mostly forgettable slice of mid-1970s sexism/sexual revolution stuff. But Richard Baskin wrote and sang most of the songs, and Keith Carradine did the vocals on the title track, and I wore that record out.
