Got to a doctor, finally.

Last edited Sat May 4, 2019, 10:22 PM - Edit history (1)

Thanks to those that made that possible.
They're at a loss. They are sure it's one thing causing it all because everything wrong happened at the same time. But the legs not wanting to work, double vision, my right fingers still numb, add the lumps that are not there, got her scratching her head.
She took a lot of blood and sent it out for test.
All I can do is wait.

Add- I should add a thank you to my doc. She talked to me yesterday and told me to meet her at Banner hospital today.

body, one could have caused a cascading effect for the other issues. Break it down: learn about and review each symptom separately and then list the common denominater to all.

Some friends of mine have been through that. It’s terrifying when your life feels like an episode of House.

I don’t know what your religious beliefs are, so this may mean nothing to you, but, regardless, you’re on my prayer list. I’m sure we all sympathize with you and wish you the best. The best advice I can give right now is to tell someone how you’re feeling, in person. Good luck.

That's why she wants me to do the MRI next week. I was shaking when she said that she didn't know.
With everything on, hearing that upset me a lot. She didn't want to to upset me more by putting me in a small place. I'm claustrophobic.

Try the oral sedation first and if you fail that, the next step is IV conscious sedation (you won't remember the event). Brain MRIs without contrast usually last about 20 minutes. Good luck, you need to have this test.

Set aside a little time each day for meditation, even if it's only for a minute or two. It's a learned skill and gets easier the more you practice.

If you're looking for some inspiring talks, check out Pema Chodron on YouTube. She does a lot of work on getting through crises.

Rootin' for ya!

Lady Freedom, I am not in the health field. My husband had double vision problems, which I googled, and the condition myasthenia gravis came up. Here is the description I found.

"Symptoms may include:

drooping of one or both eyelids (ptosis)
blurred or double vision (diplopia) due to weakness of the muscles that control eye movements
a change in facial expression
difficulty swallowing
shortness of breath
impaired speech (dysarthria)
weakness in the arms, hands, fingers, legs, and neck."

Hope you get good news from the doctor, and best wishes.

If I'm unable to work.......
Those are way to close to what I'm going through.

My husband -- who had very occasional double vision but none of the other symptoms -- was not diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. The only thing I know about it is that it came up in google search results when I looked for "double vision."

I didn't do a thorough read through all the online information on the condition because my husband wasn't diagnosed with it. Sorry to say that that is the limit of my "online doctoring," and I don't know anything else about it.

Lady Freedom -- love the name -- fingers crossed that this gets handled ASAP and you can be feeling much better.

One more thing, Lady Freedom --

It never hurts to bring up the possibility to your doctor -- "Could it be myasthenia gravis?"

Doctors are faced with a gigantic body of knowledge to sift through when making diagnoses. Many doctors tend to first think of "the usual things" and may have no experience with a condition that's more out of the mainstream and may have very limited -- or no -- knowledge about it.

Just from glancing at the Internet, it seems that this condition is usually treated by neurologists.
