Walking.

It is truly amazing how much energy walking takes. Broke my ankle in November and just got on a cane 3 weeks ago. DAMN but it is a LOT of work. Hopefully I will be off the cane in a month or so. Doing PT twice a week and walking between days. Have made it up to 4 blocks, 2 out, 2 back. But it is exhausting.

for three months. OMG, I had NO, ZERO, ZILCH upper body strength and it was torture at first. I built up strength over the weeks, but it was still very difficult--especially when self-absorbed people (sorry, but usually men) would let doors slam in my face as I tried to navigate.

Not an experience I'd like to repeat.

arthritis in my back has made it so I can barely walk a block without crumpling in pain. O how I miss it.
Keep walking as long as you can. There is almost always something new to see and think about.

Cut the grass with my electric push mower the other day by placing a lawn chair in the yard to sit on when the pain got too bad. Took a long time and was painful, but it felt so good afterwards.

9 1/2 feet onto a concrete floor. My fault, I slipped while measuring rafter spacing. Split my tibia and broke the heel off of my left foot.

Update: just got ANOTHER letter from a lawyer, this makes 6 so far, wanting me to sue the homeowner. ( My son)

not your son personally. It's all a game. But I think it's gross that lawyers solicit clients that way; it used to be considered unethical. Your injuries sound awful and painful - hope you recover soon.

That is the way I was raised. I used my own insurance and paid the 25% myself. It did not take long to get $300 in bills and the insurence kicked in. Looking at some statements I got, the Doctor owes ME money.

When I got my prosthesis, 1st lesson in PT was the number of muscles one controls in moving one leg in front of other.

I had knee operation a while back and was on crutches for weeks. Getting back and forth to work on crutches just drained my energy.

Oh, have you tried that new cane design, the Posture Cane? It's supposed to be a big improvement for the user.

Had a 4 wheel cart that I scooted along on, then a walker, now a cane. Should be off the cane in another 3 weeks.
