I have Pandora and Amazon Music, and I download and listen to some music now and then.
As a result, even in my late middle age (boy, it kills me to put it like that), I don't really have a favorite(s).
If I thought about it and spent time googling and listening, I could come up with probably 50 songs (in 50 years) that I really like for one reason or another (and I know that seems pathetic compared to the music fiends on DU). In any case, I took a break over the weekend and decided to listen to some music and thought I'd share 2 that come in my top ten. I'll leave it to others to psychoanalyze the meaning.
Edited to add one c&w: Rhett Akins, that aint my truck. Greatest country song ever
Barry McGuire's Eve of Destruction -
Judy Garland's Somewhere over the Rainbow -

(20,202 posts)They get interrupted by the occassional commercial, but it works pretty well. I have a few hundred songs all together, grouped by decades or themes like "Fun and Funky" that has a lot of Prince, Gap Band, Rick James, and "Sweet and Low Down" that has a lot of slow and sexy stuff, etc. I have about 20 playlists altogether.
