Umpire Ron Luciano told this story about Earl Weaver.

I believe this happened when both were in the Minors.

Earl Weaver came out of the dugout to protest a call by Luciano. Weaver did his usual hysterics, but topped it off by collapsing on the pitcher's mound while clutching his chest.

Luciano walked up to Weaver and leaned over and said, "Earl, if you're still alive, you're out of the game."

It was loaded with stories like this. Luciano was quite the character. He also happened to be a great umpire.
