Wait for the owner to die and leave the animal in the house alone. The dog will starve to death if nobody gets it. The cat won't. That's all I'm going to say on the subject because it says a lot about how useful you are to your pet.

Two cats in my house and I love them anyway. I just plan to outlive them.

But my understanding is that the cats are a lot quicker.

Heck, I've got one who hasn't even got the decency to wait for me to die. Or even for him to be hungry, now that I think about it...

Sammy was found at about three weeks of age wandering alone in the woods, malnourished and riddled with fleas & ticks. The woman who rescued her was terribly allergic to cats so she couldn't keep her. She posted her picture on the electronic bulletin board at the university where we both worked and I fell in love. She was a tiny thing, but tough. I don't know how she survived on her own with all of the predators in the area. She's 6 now, but still very tiny at barely 6 pounds.

This is Sammy, clearly displeased at the size of box I'd just opened.

I'm so sorry about your sweet Callie, She sounds like she was very special.

Except Celina picked a dog instead of a human. Sadly her puppy is gone though. He had cancer and we had to send him over the rainbow bridge on the 23rd.

most of the cats who've lived with me, they bounce out of the bushes and I end up with a cat to live with.
