Might be ANYTHING (and I'm NOT a doctor,) but thyroid and blood work might be useful.

Potassium and Magnesium too.

Also, what's the air quality been like lately, including pollen levels. Tree pollen here in Houston has been HORRIBLE and now we have this shit burning that's put all sorts of partculate matter into the air as well as ozone. I'm one of those "sensitive groups" when it comes to air quality and I'm wiped out.

Fresh air and exercise seem to help.

Also - RE: your name. My nickname in college was Hoffy (taken from my maiden name) and my current married last name ends in berger. So maybe we're twins separated at birth?

and if you have access to a recumbent bicycle... To increase stamina, bike for 10-15 minutes a day for a week or two or however long, until you feel it's too easy.
Then add 5 minutes or so a day for a week or two or however long until you feel it's too easy. Or you can increase the resistance of the bicycle in the same way. It only take a few weeks to get out of shape, but about 3 months to get back into shape.

Without a complete physical workup for starters, impossible to say.
