I have a theory. Most of these cats act real affectionate around big fat guys because they know that these big fat guys are going to always have food.

4. My Dad didn't care much for cats

I was living in San Francisco and I had my ginger boy cat with me. He was not happy so I told my Dad that he needed to go back to his home.

Dad reluctantly took him back home.

The next time I went there, oh how things had changed!

Dad had MY cat in his lap and oh how he and MY cat liked that!

He kept my cat until he died at the age of 14 years. He was so very sad that he went out and adopted a ginger kitten and gave him the same name as MY cat!

He died a cat lover! Who would have ever thunk?

5. My husband said if we got a cat he wouldn't "touch the damn thing".

When we got home from the animal shelter, said husband fell asleep on the couch and woke up to see a tiny kitten sleeping on his chest. He was hooked; never had a fighting chance. In the 38 years we were married, we always had at least one cat.
