This is what it said about her setup:

While experimenting with all kinds of foods to lure the birds in, she’d also set up up a camera trap that helps her implement her idea of exploring the birds from up close. She uses a Bird Photo Booth 2.0 which consists of a camera box, a macro lens and an attachable feeder. She uses a tiny camera equipped with a motion sensor so that when a bird comes to eat, the camera photographs in a non-intrusive way. Her usual evening routine is going through an impressive number of photos taken during the day that can reach up to 7000. A photoshoot takes place every day in Lisa’s yard under any weather conditions.

Would love to have a setup like that on one of my feeders with the images coming up on a monitor at my desk! That Bird Photo Booth Wi-Fi bird cam is around $200 a way out of my budget, but I could probably rig an inexpensive WIFI camera and just monitor using my computer.

Another hobby for another day....

Just remembered I need to wrap up and go fill my feeders! I hear a dove talking to me now.

She must run a restaurant for "vacationing" winter visitors. I get many of those birds in the summer and I have a flock of starlings that love my outdoor cats' food during the winter months. This year they became permanent residents due to the extremely cold temperatures. I have 3 outdoor cats and have only found feathers from 2 dead birds in the last 4 years. The birds are extremely talented in their timing their meals, and they have great lookouts.

to attract more specific birds, such as the meal worms I saw in some shots. That attracts the bug-eating birds.

That open feeder she showed wouldn't do in my yard 'cause the squirrels would destroy and empty it in an hour, LOL.

Although the pretty colored ones are nice, I enjoy watching all birds. They are a wonder of nature!.....

She's got great pics from all the seasons, and many beautiful birds in natural poses. Her hidden camera is activated by motion sensor and it can shoot up to 7,000 photos per day. Another interesting fact I learned on her write-up is that the photographer is originally from Michigan but she lives in Germany now. I'm guessing these awesome pics were all taken in Germany.

Thanks for sharing!

See: https://www.pennington.com/all-products/wild-bird/resources/jelly-and-fresh-fruit (more cute photos, too!)

(snip)

Grape jelly can also be set out in bowls or in special feeders designed for it, but again, it gets sticky and moldy, so make sure whatever you offer it in is easily washed, and make sure to clean it often. Make sure the jelly doesn’t have any artificial sweeteners. Jelly very quickly gets sticky, so never offer it in large quantities. Small spoonfuls spaced in a bowl or in tiny containers are the best way to offer jelly.

Birds tend to foul open feeders and birdbaths pretty quickly, so it's a regular cleaning job to keep everything healthy.

Similar to house pet food and water bowls.......
