Cheese tossing at infants. Is this a real thing?

‘Humanity is doomed’: People keep throwing cheese on babies’ faces for social media likes

What happens if you throw a slice of cheese at a baby’s face?

Some laugh and shake it off. Others grimace, stumble around blindly, recoil like they’ve been hit by a truck, flail their arms, or stare reproachfully at the cheese-thrower. Some eat the cheese. Generally, all look confused.

We know this thanks to a week-old viral phenomenon called the “cheese challenge,” in which people toss shiny slices of processed cheese at unsuspecting infants and share their reactions on social media. Depending on whom you ask, it’s either extremely hilarious or proof that the Internet should never have been invented.

I'll admit that I used to entertain my toddlers with a slice of cheese. If you warm it between your hands and then press it to the tray of the high chair, it will keep them busy for several minutes scraping small bits of it up to eat. I never thought about throwing it at their faces, however.

This is bullying behavior, IMO. They are doing something to a child who can't do anything about it. Arkansas Granny Mar 2019 #10

Who wants anything thrown on their face and then be laughed at? If you wouldn’t want it done to you, don’t do it to a baby. Really people? I guess this is where we are now. Holy hell.

Words to live by.
How can anyone think this is funny. It is ok to laugh at baby/child if they think they are funny. My mom would say that if we would do it to the police, then by all means, go ahead. Her point being an assault is an assault.

toward compassion. I was a horribly abused child and such activity was par for the course when belittling me to the point of having no self worth. Decades of counseling still can't undo the damage that is caused by self gratifying ignorant assholes who do this kind of shit.

Anyone who would do something like that to a child for entertainment should not have children nor be allowed to care for them.

The more I think about this thing, the angrier I get. I don’t even toss a treat at my dog who can’t catch for fear it will hit him in the face. The disrespect of a child is staggering. Nothing funny about it.

The fact that they think it's funny enough to post for others to see is really disturbing.

It's not cute. It's not funny.

A parent throwing cheese on their child so other people can be entertained?

Stupid. Kind of abusive.

Got to wonder just what else they will do to get attention.

Throwing something at a child’s face and then laughing at the shocked child. Way to build trust. Tomorrow these parents should trip kiddo and laughed when she falls down.

to shove wedding cake in their new spouse's face - another ridiculous and nasty "custom."
