Peter Frampton Announces Farewell Tour, Reveals Muscle Disease Diagnosis
https://pitchfork.com/news/peter-frampton-announces-farewell-tour-reveals-muscle-disease-diagnosis/
Peter Frampton has sat down for new interviews with CBS This Morning and Rolling Stone, during which he revealed that he has been diagnosed with Inclusion-Body Myositis (IBM), a rare degenerative muscle disease. The diagnosis came three-and-a-half years ago; Frampton expects the muscle problems will eventually progress into his fingers, affecting his ability to record and perform. As such, hes announced a farewell tour spanning North America, kicking off June 18 with a show at the Joint in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Find the full list of dates here.
Speaking to RS, Frampton revealed that hes recorded a new double album, set to be released around the time the tour begins. He also teased another single album that were finishing off tracking next week and then after, if I can muster it, were going to do yet another project. One dollar from every ticket sold on the upcoming tour will go to the Peter Frampton Myositis Research Fund, a new fund established with Johns Hopkins University.

He was as good as ever and I SO enjoyed the show.

(39,343 posts)2. myositis sucks.
My only advice, keep ingesting cannabis. It's helped me so much and I've had dermatomyositis diagnosed now for 7 years. I still monitor myself and take a couple of meds, but the cannabis helps with the inflammation and muscle spasm and pain.
So yes, we (or I) feel like you do. And thanks for the research fund.
