When I was "younger" I never thought that some days I might go to sleep at 9pm or even as early as 8:30pm..Those were impossible thoughts about "someday." But someday has arrived, and it is ok. It is ok because there is no police where I live that will say when to go to sleep or when to not go to sleep. Or when to get up, or not get up. Retired for a while, and enjoying it.

Recently I've reverted to sleeping in to about 11 am most mornings. And I'm rarely asleep before 1am.

Whenever I have to make an appointment for something I tell them that I don't do mornings. It's much worse when I need to schedule things like my yard service, because they really do want to show up first thing in the morning, which I understand. And because the only way to my back yard is through my home, I can't just tell them to do their work and leave the bill on the door.

... telecast from London, Paris, etc. No way I can stay up til midnight in my timezone.

Those Europeans are smart enough to have their fireworks at a reasonable hour.

I also couldn't stay up for the State of the Union speech. So, this isn't all bad.
