Head's up: Malwarebytes is doing something funky with billing. IMPORTANT UPDATE

Last edited Mon Feb 18, 2019, 10:50 AM - Edit history (1)

UPDATE - Paypal came back and rejected the claim.

This is very fishy. Paypal decided to reject the claim. So I see an open door for Malwarebytes to reactivate accounts and bleed money from old users.

BEWARE.

Just received strange emails. One said that they reactivated my account and that I could select automatic renewal for future billings. They came in with an old credit card number and if I hadn't challenged them with paypal, my backup credit card would have paid for it.

I may have paid for the original programs years ago, but my computer has been scrubbed several time over the last few years and I never reactivated the paid premium program. I do have a free version, but use is it, rarely.

Do not understand why they went this far.

they were hacked. I got an email that said my subscription was up in a few days and I needed to renew. They did a good job of making it look like it really came from Malwarebytes. I knew that wasn't true. They said they were swamped with calls. The same people may be at it again.
