Squee! Maine Coon Kittens That Are Actually Giants Waiting To Grow Up

By Akvile P.

Maine coon cats are, without a doubt, the most majestic cat breed that has ever existed - their luxurious fluffy coats, fine physique, and character traits are what makes them so unique. And if fully grown Maine cats are exceptional, then wait until you see their cute kittens! These kitty cats have all the extra fuzz that a cat can have and more.

This big cat breed's history of origin is unknown, though its ancestors most likely came with the ships of 11th-century Norsemen. When fully grown, these fluffy cats can weigh up to 18 lb (8.2 kg) and reach a body length of 48 in (120 cm). Maine coons are perfectly adapted to live in harsh climates - their shaggy coats keep them warm, and their huge paws make it easy to walk on snow. These impressive felines are not your typical lap cats - coons are affectionate without being clingy and, because of their higher intellect, are easily trainable.

Mine was named “Lily”. She wasn’t as delicate as her name but she was certain about her favorite food. Lily would eat only one kind of cat food, yet she would turn herself inside out to gain access to a bowl of chili.

Your wonderful photos really brightened my day. Thank you~

We've had two Maine Coons (one now). They are truly special cats. I'm sure we'll get another one day if we have the chance.

They like to play in water.
Most of them have a sense of humor, although I had one that I used to refer to as a republican because he was very much a predator and showed no mercy to his victims - that included Foxes, and possibly coyotes. He cost me a lot of money because he would always come home on on a Sunday all chewed up, and I would have to bring him to the vet on a weekend.

Another cool thing about Maine Coons is the wide variety of colors and coat configurations !
Calico, tabby, solids, tuxedo, and so on.

I love them

There are Maine Coon rescue groups too, so one can be found without going through a breeder.

I have a soft spot for them because of this guy, who may "only" be an alley cat by birth, but looks and acts like a Maine Coon:

I can't take all if that cute.

I have a Maine Coon. She was brought to my clinic when she was 4 or 5 weeks old. She had been found wandering down a highway (422 in PA). It was love at first sight.

She is going to be 12 this year. She's still a kitten, though. She's incredibly sweet. She barely meows, but she is extremely talkative - she chirps and trills at us all day long. She also headbutts and kneads my kids when the alarms goes off in the morning. lol

When I retire from politics and stop travleing so much, I'm getting kitties (and naming them after each city I worked in). On my list is a (male) Maine Coon to be named "Portland"
