Our Aussie checks on us about every few minutes when we're walking him. He turns his head and looks us in the eye or comes over and touches us with his snout. We've only had him a month, rescued him after having 4 homes in 12 years and being left in a his crate 22 hrs. a day for at least the last year. Think he wants to make sure these good times continue and that we are truly his forever people (we are!). Doggie love is awesome.

Just adorable. Isn't it wonderful to be loved by a doggy?

I needed to go almost immediately and the Mrs. would be following in about a month. When it was finally time for her to move to KC, I arranged to meet her in Indianapolis and finish the rest of the drive to KC with her. (For some reason the Cincinnati airport is one of the most expensive in the US to fly into and out of, hence meeting in Indianapolis, which is only about 100 mi from Cinn. and about half the cost.)

When I arrived, I called the hotel she was staying at and got the room number, caught the shuttle, and found the room. When she opened the door, behind her on the back of the sofa was our dog, Sancho. I swear, he did a double take! Suddenly there was an absolutely ecstatic dog dancing around my feet and jumping up on me. Evidently he had assumed that I had disappeared from his life, mourned my leaving, and moved on. He was over the moon when I suddenly reappeared.

Probably because they’re so doggone lovable.

My husband told me that our dog spent the whole time I was away babysitting our new grandchild looking for me. All over the house. Under the car. Around the dog park. And sitting by the front door.

Dayum!
