iPod Bluetooth adapter advice/product recs needed

I hope this is the right place to post.

Years ago, I acquired a 60GB iPod loaded with music and lots of vital boxed sets (not stolen, long story). I think it's a first or second gen. Since the music wasn't downloaded through my iTunes acct, I cannot transfer anything to a new iPod or to my iPad.

The iPod is not bluetooth capable, but I have seen there are accessories that can make it so. How do those work? I've seen them priced from $7-$200. How much difference is there between the cheap ones and the crazy expensive ones?

I want to use it with my new wireless headphones and with my little Bose speaker. Using ear buds sucks.

Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I use it to play music or MyNoise.net sounds from my iPhone to two Bluetooth earbuds or speakers at the same time. It works great and sounds like it should also work with an old iPod.

I paid $30. It has 40ms lag to the earbuds/speakers which is virtually undetectable. I think you generally pay more for less lag.

I'm having trouble using it in Receiver mode though. Pairing it with the iPhone usually fails. My car doesn't have Bluetooth so I wanted to plug it into the Aux input in my car to give me Bluetooth audio capability so I don't need the stupid adapter.

The other devices have no problems pairing.

I was hoping the $20-$40 range would be good. The size and scale of the price range had me concerned. I wouldn't be using it in a car, so receiver mode shouldn't be an issue.
Off to check it out on Amazon! Thanks!
