However, there seems to be a paywall. I don't understand why CBS Access requires a subscription fee when we're already paying through the nose on Spectrum. Any ideas on how to see this series at a reasonable cost?
We do have Roku, but I understand that you still have to pay for CBS Access.

(3,398 posts)Basically, all you get for it is that show, many recent CBS shows and some of their classic shows. But most of the best classic shows CBS has produced - MASH, The Dick Van Dyke Show, All In The Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, I Love Lucy, The Carol Burnett Show, The Andy Griffith Show, etc. - are not there. Heres a list of their shows...

(2,507 posts)It allows you to route all of your internet traffic through a server in a different area or different country. Among other things, it is used for privacy purposes (stop your ISP from logging your internet traffic). In this case, you would use it to pretend to be in a country other than the US, where Star Trek Discovery is available on Netflix.
I'm currently using Proton VPN, to pretend to be in Sweden to watch Netflix, but there are a lot of other good VPN providers out there.

(791 posts)Titled 'Brother' is what we have on now/yesterday. Honestly I was surprised as I figured they would have to wait for CBS to show it first. Guess not.

(23,723 posts)Only 2 shows I want to see on CBS All Access; Star Trek Discovery and The Good Fight.
2nd Season of Star Trek was just released but all episodes won't be available until May. Unlike other streaming services, CBS All Access new episodes are not all released on the same date. They are released weekly like a regular TV series. Last episode of Star Trek won't be released until April 18th.
First episode Season 3 of the Good Fight probably won't be released until March. Given a 13 episode series, the last one will be released late May.
So sometime after the last episode of the Good Fight is released or maybe a couple of weeks before, I will subscribe to CBS All Access. I will then have a month to watch all episodes of Star Trek and The Good Fight.
Will probably sign up for the commercial free plan, $9.99 and watch within a month, then will cancel. Not a bad price to watch 26 episodes; about $.38 an episode.
Limited Commercials Plan
Watch CBS All Access on-demand shows with limited commercial interruptions for $5.99 per month, plus any applicable state taxes.
Commercial Free Plan
Enjoy premium viewing of CBS All Access on-demand shows, free from commercial interruption* for only $9.99 per month, plus any applicable taxes.

What is the process to subscribe? Do a search for CBS All Access and follow the prompts?

(23,723 posts)I can wait. Have enough to watch with Netflix and Amazon Prime and only watch about 2-3 hours of TV per day.
