A HERETIC I AM

I really do have a sick sense of humor, but this is the funniest .gif I have seen in a long time!

Remember Felix Baumgartner? The guy that jumped from a balloon at 127,500 feet back in 2012? A truly spectacular feat, well documented on YouTube and elsewhere.

Well.....ya gotta love the talented people on the internet!

He rapidly accelerated to over Mach 1 and disappeared in the distance below. Because he was at 127000 feet.

So yeah, for those who remember this exact scene, it’s funny.

And I obviously should have.

This was a record setting parachute jump/freefall from 2012 that broke the previous high-altitude jump record set back in 1966.

Here is a short vid of the event, with the actual jump itself at 1:00 mark.

If you type "Felix Baumgartner" into Google, you will learn all about the guy.

So...basically the joke is that he jumped from 26 miles up and went splat! Of course in reality, he didn't. He survived the jump quite well and walked away from the gentle, parachute assisted landing after falling for about 9 minutes.

Sorry for the lack of context.

That gave me chills!

Thank you for sharing the real video.

And in context, the splat is pretty funny.

127.000 (U.S.A.) = 127,000 (Europe and many other places)
