Seems that Murphy Brown is done

I suppose, in the 90s, with only three major networks and no "social media" her show was the one poked needles at politics. But now there are many, biting.

Still, was a nice try.

1. A sign of the times, for sure

What is "edgy" in one era becomes somewhat tame or bland the next.

2. She is 72 years old now. I thought the plan was limited episodes. At her age it's not

so easy to have that kind of schedule and be the lead character.

3. The executive producer says there's a possibility of a second season.

She says in this article that she was to meet with someone from CBS on Jan 7. Did not hear anything after that.

4. That's the thing about reboots - bringing a show that epitomized another time,

dropping it into a contemporary setting and hoping it will grab viewers the same as it used to doesn't always work. Just as it would be bizarre to watch a reboot of Seinfeld or Cheers.

Totally get the nostalgia element (that's why I tuned into the first episode) but sometimes it's better to leave hit shows in their respective eras.

pretty good topics, but just not of this era as others have said.

6. It was only scheduled for 13 shows.

The episodes I did see were pretty good . Oddly enough I never warmed up to the guy playing her son.
