Lounge knows all, so for low sugar which: Pinot noir or merlot?

So, for a struggling diabetic, whatever whatever. Internet is the authority: Says that "residual sugar" is burnt off (who knows) and that the aforesaid choices have the least sugar - *sour*??!1

*Talk* to me!1

easier to score decent merlot than find drinkable pinot noir. the drier and less sweet, obviously the less sugar. you don't want sour per se, you want dry. there are some good inexpensive merlots from Argentina and Chile, as well as Washington state.
