I really was grief stricken with Aretha's passing. Don't know exactly why, but she was such a great singer and a great presence, I felt her loss the most. I grieved for her longer than I thought I would.

(102,277 posts)Penny Marshall and David Ogden Stiers (MASH) really saddened me too. There were a lot this year. But, yes, I think Aretha's loss leaves the biggest hole.
