The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsDoing laundry and Who rolls on Christmas Eve a big Lebowski Morning
I love when our daughters visit they bring the grandsons and laundry this time two babies and at least five loads of laundry well five laundry baskets . Kicker is they both have washers and dryers anyway in my ramble I fell asleep around 8 pm wide awake around 0130. So I hit planet fitness and then start Dads laundry services around 0400. I wash dry I do not fold ,Then I make breakfast and the boys get up they smelled the chow.
So sitting here watching our two teenagers stuff their faces with chip beef and eggs I mentioned
Dad - Hey fellas its gonna be nice today you wanna do some trout fishing.
Child -2 Dad we have a birthday party to go to today at the bowling alley.
Child 1- chimes in oh yea dad were gonna need some cash and a ride. And were gonna have stop and get her a birthday gift.
Dad - oh yea whose birthday party is it
(Come find out it is a young lady in the guys eighth grade) gonna be kids from eight grade.
When we attempt to bowl maybe half a dozen times it was usually on a whim because were really not into it. And the guys get embarrassed because I put up the rails I really stink at it.
So then the conversation degraded into the movie as yogi the Newfie started barking because he is waiting on his eggs and chipped beef.
Son 2- Replying to yogi you have no frame of reference and your out of your element here yogi.
The Newfie - looking at me I dont understand what he just said to me man.

(7,888 posts)Enjoy the holidays, your delight gave me another reason to smile today. Another reason this is a good day for me, I am preparing for my family get together tomorrow, just my daughter, SIL, grandchildren and a few others.
To be honest, I keep begging everyone to celebrate the holiday by taking a family vacation. Of course, I am not sure we could keep everyone entertained for a week (including me).
