A friend who was a long, long time vegetarian then vegan opened my eyes about 8 years ago. Were your parents vegetarians/vegans? Or were you just born with empathy and understanding? 🙂

I've avoided eating animal flesh ever since I found out animals were killed to make meat and seafood. I may have been around four. My parents never tried to force me to eat dead animals and didn't make a fuss about my going outside while they were cooking them. The idea of it make me gag, and so did the smell.

I'll eat eggs once in a while and some dairy, but no animals. Holiday meals are interesting here at my house, with Mr. froggy and our grown sons omnivores, our daughter a vegan, and our grands and great-grands omnivores, vegetarians and vegans. To each his or her own, and at holiday meals there's lots of food for everyone.

Vegan here. Am NOT going to contribute to the barbaric cruelty to sentient, innocent beings - for just one reason.

I'd rather pet 'em & play fetch w/ em.
