releasing back to the wild.
Some fools in Colorado took a mountain lion cub they found home (and fed it Bratwurst---don't get me started)... It isn't even clear the kit was orphaned. Fortunately CO Fish & WIldlife found out and took it back, but it will have to be in a setting free of human contact until old enough to try release. The odds are not in its favor, though.
