I'm trying to figure out what is attacking or stressing to death an adult rabbit and a possum. Could be poisons laid out on the golfcourse.

(21,646 posts)large rabbit and just lay still. Could be in the shadows watching closely though.not coming out but its smell could put some stress on territories of the animals maybe but if they are ill, I go with animal gone type chems on the course

(46,757 posts)We saw a dead rabbit, which was intact about two months ago. No signs of trauma. And today, in the same area, there was an adult possum that looked like it was mostly eaten. Vultures were picking what was left. I saw a scat of beauty berries nearby, which looked like whatever dropped it was not in any hurry. I don't know if the possum was poisoned, died, and then eaten by anything that was hungry enough to eat it, including a cat that looked full bellied.

(100 posts)would start wondering about pesticide exposure (rabbit) and maybe a poisoned rat ('possum). Poor critters.
