Brand new toilet paper roll...shortly, said product is needed and OMG.... the entire roll is heaped on the floor in what appears to be a orgy of delight and insouciance. Gray Tabby guilty party. When I inquired into the nefarious deed, said culprit gave a big, big yawn and just walked away. Actually, she went over to her food bowl and lay down...her request for more food even when there is still some there. What does she think I am, her hired hand?
So what did I do...put more food down Damn.
But she should be punished. I know, I'll close the patio door so she can't preen on the balcony ledge. That ought to do it.
LOL...Dogs drool...Cats rule.

(14,624 posts)They feel no shame and if you overreact, they don't understand what all the fuss is about.
Best to accept the whims of your feline overlord and move on.
And be glad she didn't barf in your shoe or chew on your phone cable. Or bring a live roach into your bed at 3:00 am (I had one that did that. She considered it as a spectacular toy and didn't understand why I didn't appreciate her "gift"!).

(21,871 posts)Pick said kitty up, turn belly side up and blow raspberries into tummy... and, yes, we will await pictures.
AND repeat this mantra: I am a mere can opener, I am a mere can opener. Etc, etc.

(9,265 posts)Toilet paper is fair game. They will even see an unopened pack of it and bite through the plastic wrap to get it. I keep it out of reach. The devil makes work for idle paws.

(15,808 posts)She pulls part of a Kleenex out of the box- just a corner or a strip, drops it and goes for more. Lather rinse repeat.
Bits and pieces of Kleenex all over the bedroom.

(118,659 posts)things out and plays with them. And leaves them all around the house. I never catch him in the act so there is no point in punishment (scolding). The other cat is an angel and never does anything wrong. And always asks for permission to sleep on me.

Right now the only problem we have is that kitty won't kill the mice.

(31,389 posts)next to the wall that pulls down. Much more difficult for kitty to unroll because pawing down on the roll just flips the roll around rather than unrolling the TP.

(115,693 posts)punishment makes no sense to them because they have no concept of having done something wrong. If you spray them with water they will run away from the water bottle, but they'll go back to doing what they did as soon as they don't see the water bottle any more. If you yell at them or swat them you'll just make them afraid of you. To prevent them from unrolling your toilet paper, all you can do is put the roll somewhere out of their reach, or at least hang it so the paper rolls from under rather than the top. A cat is like a baby. You just have to put stuff where they can't get at it.
