RIP Halloween

At least the version sold in the last half of the 20th century.

With the growth of community, school, and church Halloweens (or their equivalents), very few children come down my block on the night anymore. So I decided to not bother doing the three hour show for three ((or six)) kids this year.

I think the candy makers are marketing to the community events now. ((Where else would one use a 400-piece bag???))

And to those who never got to gorge at once on their Halloween candy when young.

PS. The neighbor's dog finally barked.

and it there are, they are high school kids with barely a mask, but carrying a generous pillowcase.

Two years ago - no one. Last year, about a dozen. And now, seems that no one will come.

At least we got smart. We got two extra boxes of individual popcorn bags - 100 cal each from COSTCO. We love them, our regular snacks, so will be consumed.

Will leave the lights until the half hour and then time for dinner.

I would estimate we had 400 to 500 children tonight come by the house, we eventually ran out of candy and had to shut it down.
