Is Rami Malek strong enough to portray Freddie? Having trouble imagining it.

A strange but perhaps better choice would've been Sacha Baron Cohen! Accent perfect. The vocals are dubbed anyway.

I loved Freddie and Queen - still adore his music.

I'm 61, so Queen became big when I was in my late teens, early 20s. By my late 20s I was losing all my gay friends to AIDS. And when I say all, I mean fucking ALL. So when I watched the film and the tears came, they weren't just for Freddie.

So now I've seen it and it was quite good. It definitely isn't straightwashed. They cover Freddie's sexuality A LOT. My only gripe is I felt it came off a bit judgmental, and it slowed the pace of the film enough that I was checking my watch. But overall I thought the film was pretty great, enough so that I want to go back and shell out $20 to see it in IMAX or RDX or whatever. See it soon, on a big screen, with a packed audience.
