Oleg Belogusov was stabbed after telling his pal the ending of the books he was reading
A scientist in a remote outpost in Antarctica plunged a kitchen knife into his colleague because he was fed up with the man telling him the endings of books, say investigators.
Sergey Savitsky, 55, and Oleg Beloguzov, 52, were avid readers to pass the lonely hours during four harsh years together.
But Savitsky became angry after Beloguzov kept telling him the endings, it is alleged.
The victim is now in intensive care after being flown from Russias Bellingshausen research station on King George Island to Chile with a knife injury to his heart.

Two guys are stuck in Antarctica and all they have is books and one of the guys blabs the endings? I'd probably stab him too.

(5,523 posts)13. We passed a lot of books around while I was at McMurdo.
No one ever spoiled an ending. That would be like getting bumped from ride out. There was usually a waiting list for the popular books. The spoiler deserved to get stabbed.

deprived of many creature comforts - does a number on a person's tolerance level. I'm amazed they didn't go berzerk even sooner.
